8pm to 1am

Join Paranormal Friends as we investigate the wonderfully spooky Manor House, West Bromwich for the first time.

Murder, grave robbing and insanity are all part of the story of this fascinating and unique building – the Manor House or Bromwich Hall has seen it all. Built by Richard de Marnham in the 1270s, The Manor House is one of the most important surviving medieval timber framed buildings in the Midlands. Even “Witch marks” have recently been identified in this historic property.

The construction of its great hall is thought to be the earliest of this type of construction in the country in a standing building. It would have been used for feasts, local courts and tax collection.

There are numerous reports of “Ghostly” activity including a ghostly cat brushing past people in the Great Hall as well as the figure of a Medieval man seen here too. Several reports of loud disembodied footsteps. Curtains between the Chapel and the north Solar being opened regularly overnight when nobody was in the building. The apparitions of young men being seen; possibly Bertrum and Nicholas who were brothers in the 14th Century. The former murdered the latter! The figure of a Monk has been seen outside the Chapel and also in the Great Hall. Unexplained, disembodied voices and apparitions are often reported by staff members. Doors often open and close for no apparent reason. One member of the team has reported being grabbed by a Spirit and having seen this male as a dark shadow too. In the Ladies toilet, when photographing for a Halloween event, an unexplained figure was seen behind the then site manager

The Museum was a public house from the 1960s and when it first opened was an extremely prestigious venue, where footballers and VIPs would dine. The pub closed in 2009 and the building is now in the guardianship of Sandwell Council.

On our pre-investigation walk-around, Adam, our resident Medium encountered Spirit in numerous areas including the Great Hall, the former bar area in the south Solar, the Chapel and the Medieval Kitchen rooms seemed particularly active but he couldn’t single any out at the time because of how busy it felt .

We don’t normally do this, but here’s a TV excerpt that gives a great flavour of the Manor House and perhaps something of what we might encounter. CLICK ON THIS LINK
